Abbey, the High Street bank, offers what they call a Personal Protection Plan.

Their Personal Protection consists of either life insurance in its own or critical illness cover with life insurance

Life Insurance

The life insurance option from Abbey will pay out a lump sum if the policyholder dies.

Critical illness cover

Abbey critical illness cover will pay out a lump sum if the policyholder if you are diagnosed with any of a range of critical illnesses.

If you choose Abbey critical illness cover you will also get life insurance to the same value as your critical illness cover and children's critical illness cover (pays up to £20,000 if one of your children suffers a critical illness).
